I’m thrilled to share a recent project focused on installing an inspection window on the right side of C-95 aircraft fuselages for the Brazilian Air Force (FAB).
Project Overview: Our objective was to enhance accessibility for inspection of the normal brake reducer PN 13485-002B, ultimately streamlining maintenance processes. The project was meticulously divided into several steps:
Reason: The absence of a dedicated inspection window resulted in prolonged removal and installation processes for the brake reducer. To address this challenge and expedite maintenance services, a new inspection window was proposed and introduced in the specified area.
Procedures:
- Initial Preparation: Ensure aircraft safety for maintenance.
- Frame Installation: Drill holes in the DAF4-3365 FRAME and position it between bays 4 and 5.
- Skin Modification: Transfer frame holes to the skin, cut along the outline, and finish.
- Assembly: Secure the FRAME inside the skin using rivets PN MS20426AD-4-5.
- Cover Installation: Attach the DAF4-3365 COVER to the flanged nuts using screws PN NAS517-3-1.
Technical Bulletin Adherence: We meticulously followed the technical bulletin of the aircraft for this service, ensuring compliance with industry standards and manufacturer guidelines.
Conclusion: The successful installation of the inspection window improves maintenance accessibility and efficiency for C-95 aircraft. This project highlights our commitment to innovative solutions in aviation maintenance, ensuring the continued safety and reliability of aircraft operations.
